I see myself as a 'Reconstructavist' who views the world as an endless stream of sensual feelings, colors, shapes, sounds... As I perceive them, the images within that stream often degenerate and trickle into simple forms and gestures. The simple lines and shapes of the underlying motion and energy, the revealed base equations, are beautiful to me. I reach to capture those revealed forms, the simple in the complex, and the complex in the simple. I long to find the infinite in the simple. The struggle between the desire to capture the pure, simple, divine beauty of an object or emotion, and the foolish vanity of that desire is a tender, dear struggle to me. Divinity in the face of humanity – that is what fires me; what makes me struggle and grin. I am also simply trying to make some cool things. |
